Coach Brings the Crowd to Their Feet

John Pelphrey electrified Kentucky crowds for 4 years on his way to being an All-American for Sutton and Pitino's teams in the early '90s. Friday night, he donned a white jersey and showed off some of his skills ending the night 1/3 from the field and the arc with 2 rebounds a steal and an assist in just a few minutes of playing time.

John Pelphrey is hoping to bring even more winning ways to the favorites to win the SEC west Arkansas Razorbacks, but if he really has that killer winning edge, he needs to show more of it. The white team lost the game. All kidding aside the 5,842 on hand for the red-white scrimmage will almost immediately approve of Pelphrey over former coach Stan Heath for his antics on the court that night. The coach playing against his players and getting into the game is marked departure from the quiet calm of former coach Stan Heath aka Montel Williams.

"I miss playing. If I could play today, I would still be playing. The only reason I'm in coaching is because it's the closest thing to playing"
